82 imagesThe Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest in California's state park system and is located east of San Diego and just west of the Salton Sea and adjacent to the Mexico border. The images in this gallery were made in 2005 when the southwest deserts experienced a historic flush of lush spring growth and verdant growth because of the past few seasons having above normal rainfall.

258 imagesClassic Mini Cooper FL to WA Roadtrip A friend and I drove two classic Mini Cooper automobiles from Orlando, Florida to the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington. The trip was supposed to be a photo trip with most being off the freeways but once on the road, our agenda changed and the trip although not the most direct route was of a rush rush nature. I didn't have time to take my DSLR out of its pack even once but did make many photos with my point-n-shoot Canon G9 camera along the way when not in heavy traffic. I put the images together as a photo essay called Photos from the Highway at 65MPH.

13 imagesAt the Longmire village in Mount Rainier National Park this bridge can be found providing a crossing of the Nisqually River. The bridge provided the only access to the park from the southwest when the Nisqually River flooded in November 2006 and closed the normal route out of the park. It also accesses the Longmire Community Center across the river from the village.

52 imagesI found these pictographs along a volcanic cliff near the Yakima River in Washington State. When they were painted or who did it or for what reason has been lost in pre-history. The do give the impression of some spiritual happening at this location that impressed the artists enough to tell us of their experience.

116 imagesThe Skagit River Delta serves as a wintering ground for hundreds of thousands of Snow Geese, Trumpeter Swans, and Bald Eagles. 40 imagesI live on the Kitsap Peninsula in Puget Sound and when leaving the peninsula I have a few choices - a land route, ferry, or by bridge. Going south to Tacoma, the route crosses the Tacoma Narrows served by two suspension bridges. I photograph the bridges often and am adding some of those images as I make them as well as construction images of the new bridge opened to traffic in July of 2007.
