The Mount Tahoma Trails Yurt in deep snow of January The Mount Tahoma Trails is a non-profit hut-to-hut crosscountry ski and snowshoe trail system in the Cascade Mountain Range of Washington state near Mount Rainier in the Tahoma State Forest, Ashford, WA and is maintained and supported by volunteers, donations, grants, and gifts. The Yurt is located six miles over a couple high ridges from the trailhead and houses six guests and ski patrollers. It is two stories high to better shed snow and has a stout framework to support a heavy snow load.
